Aceasta lumina. Ariditatea lor severa.

Taieturile de paleta si aschii ale sitei. Neoranduiala expresiva a acestor frumuseti. Tinuta umila a splendorii. Priviti-le si taceti.“ (Horia-Roman Patapievici)/ With a foreword by Horia-Roman Patapievici

"How can a beautiful life be so ugly?  How can anyone keep their dignity in a mess so big? From where the aristocratic style of some people so anonymous? The most beautiful pictures of this album associate the austerity of wood items (as diverse as stakes, groove fence, straw shingle etc.) statuary hieratism expressions of people surprised in what they are - without pump (although some of them, obviously pose for the camera), with no desire to seem different than what they are, but without knowledge that could become something other than what they are. The beauty of some old house fits perfectly with the humble outfit, circumspect, austere and dignified these peasants nobody knew,  that seem to have lasted over the centuries like invariability certain sunsets enigmatic recurrings - identical fresh immemorial, mysterious of the highest degree.

In fact, there is no key to understanding this mystery other than the mystery itself, when you live it. In order to understand love, you must love. To understand food, to eat. Look at this land. This light. Their severe aridity. The cut chips palette of the grid. Disorderly expression of these beauties. Clothing humble splendor. Watch them and be silent. "(Horia-Roman Patapievici)
